Gu Jing Cao (谷经草) is well known in TCM circles for its role in dispersing wind-heat and improving visual clarity. It is neutral to slightly cool, with a sweet (and slightly acrid) flavour. Its main functions include dispelling wind-heat in the Liver channel, brightening the eyes, and clearing superficial visual obstructions. It is used for conditions like red, swollen or painful eyes, spots before the eyes, visual haze, or photophobia when associated with Liver heat.
